Former Christian Dior Designer John Galliano Enters Rehab; Natalie Portman to Stay on as Miss Dior Cherie After Firing

Former Christian Dior creative director John Galliano has entered rehab.

The eccentric fashion icon was fired from the French fashion house this week after he was caught on video making anti-Semitic remarks at a Parisian bistro.

Since his dismissal by Dior, Galliano has received advice from friends Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, who have both urged the designer to seek professional help.

Today it seems Galliano has taken the advice to heart. The New York Times is reporting the troubled Brit is headed to the US, where he will check into a rehab program.

Still to be confirmed, anonymous sources are suggesting Galliano will head to The Meadows, a facility in Arizona, where Elton John and Donatella Versace were both treated.

Earlier this week, we wondered aloud what Miss Dior Cherie spokeswoman (and newly minted Best Actress) Natalie Portman would have to say about Galliano's bigoted remarks.

Yesterday, she released a statement saying, "I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way."

Portman continued: "I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful."

It seems the "Black Swan" star will stay on as the face of the new perfume now that Galliano is no longer affiliated with the brand.

Hopefully Galliano will get the help he needs so he can go back to creating the exquisite fashions that made him famous.
