'The Flash' Casts 'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller as Villain

'The Flash' Casts 'Prison Break' Star Wentworth Miller as Villain It's official: "The Flash" has its first supervillain!

"Prison Break" alum Wentworth Miller has been cast as Captain Cold in the CW adaptation of the superhero comic series and "Arrow" spinoff, according to reports coming out of the TCA conference.

Those who have read the comics might be surprised to find that the show is being this faithful to the original characters. It's tough to keep a live-action superhero show grounded in reality at all, but it becomes even harder when you include a supervillain who dressed in a parka and goggles and used a freeze ray.

Still, it seems that the show is aiming to be as by-the-book as possible concering the Flash mythos. "We’re incorporating almost everything from the mythology into it and have added a whole new backstory," said DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns at the conference. He added that they're aiming to make it "the most faithful DC Comics adaptation ever."

We're hoping that means that we'll see Captain Boomerang and Gorilla Grodd as well, if only because we want to see how the show handles an evil, talking gorilla.

"The Flash" will also star former "Glee" star Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, and others, including John Wesley Shipp, who played Flash in the previous TV series in the 1990's, as Barry's father.
