First Trailer for Netflix's 'Daredevil' Shows Off Marvel Magic
by Andy Neuenschwander
Marvel's Daredevil has had a rough go of it on screen, with the Ben Affleck movie getting panned by critics and fans alike.
But with the release of the first trailer for Netflix's episodic take on the superhero, Daredevil could be getting a redemption.
The trailer, released today, follows up on the teaser released weeks back by showing us actual footage from the show, including glimpses of the titular superhero in costume and in action.
It starts with a voice-over from Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox) as he sits in a confessional and asks the priest for forgiveness "not for what I've done, but for what I'm about to do." From there, we see Murdock in costume as Daredevil, taking out a room full of baddies.
We also get quick looks at former "True Blood" star Deborah Ann Woll, who will be playing Karen Page, Murdock's love interest in the comics. Rosario Dawson also appears and will be playing Claire Temple, who is typically tied to Luke Cage, who will be in one of Netflix's other Marvel shows, confirming that there will be cross-over between the new series.
