First Footage from 'Star Wars' Set Features Puppet Special Effects

First Footage from 'Star Wars' Set Features Puppet Special Effects There are so many things for "Star Wars" fans to be happy about in this video, we lost count!

The video is the first bit of footage released from the "Star Wars: Episode VII" set, which is exciting on its own even though it's a behind-the-scenes video and not footage from the film. In the video, director J.J. Abrams is standing in the middle of a Mos Eisley-looking set, with actors in costume milling about behind him.

The first exciting thing for fans happens when an alien character walks into the frame...and he's NOT made out of CGI! It looks as though Abrams will be using puppets for some of his alien creatures, instead of relying completely in computer generated aliens as George Lucas did in the Star Wars prequel films.

Then there's more exciting news: You could win a chance to actually be in the movie! If you donate at least $10 to the Star Wars: Force for Change initiative, you'll be entered for a chance to win a trip to the set of the film, where you'll get to see what goes on behind the scenes, meet some of the people involved with the movie, and even get all done up in costume and makeup and be in the movie yourself. Plus, your donation will go to UNICEF and help children in need around the world.

The charity offers varying other guaranteed rewards for donating, including a pretty snazzy t-shirt at the $100 level, a bust of Chewbacca or a lightsaber hilt at the $2,500 and $5,000 levels, and an advanced screening at $25,000 or above.
