Watch the First Clip of 'Green Lantern,' Featuring Michael Clarke Duncan as Kilowog

I've written here before about how hard it's been for Warner Brothers to drum up excitement months in advance for "Green Lantern," since so much of the final film will be CGI (and it has to be rendered for 3D, at that).

While that removes the possibility of the slow build marketing scheme, it's proved beneficial as they can now - three weeks from its release - begin a full-on onslaught of footage. If you haven't already, expect to see "Green Lantern" everywhere.

And this begins on "Attack Of The Show," G4's geek culture bombardment. Michael Clarke Duncan was on to promote the film, and he brought the first piece of completed footage with him. Duncan voices Kilowog, a member of the intergalactic police force, the Green Lantern Corps. The Corps is one of the most distinct aspects of the Green Lantern mythology - instead of being a regular guy who gains some super powers, Hal Jordan (played in the film by Ryan Reynolds) is recruited by the Corps to be the protector of a designated sector of the universe - and I'm glad to see the film version embrace this aspect so whole-heartedly.

Without further adieu, here's the clip, followed by an interview with Duncan. Here we see the unlimited possibilities possible when you have a ring that can literally create anything your mind can imagine.

Pretty neat, eh? And by all accounts, that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the imagination on display in the final film. Of all the big summer blockbusters, this is probably the one I'm most excited about, and little bits like this just keep reminding me why.

"Green Lantern," which stars Reynolds, Duncan, Peter Sarsgaard, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Angela Basset, and Tim Robbins (yep, THAT Tim Robbins) will be released on June 17th nationwide.
