First 'Battleship' Clip Hits the 'Net: It's Basically Just 'Transformers'
by Andy NeuenschwanderI have to admit, despite the fact that the "Battleship" movie will pretty clearly be ridiculous, I'm a little intrigued as to how a board game that simple will translate to a big-budget, explosion-laden blockbuster film about invading aliens. If you are too, then here's a clip for you.
This first clip from "Battleship" shows the apparent strategy for the film: make it as close to "Transformers" as possible. The clip features an attack by the alien enemies on some unsuspecting Air Force troops, which results in many explosions and one well-place expletive.
Here's the thing, though: I played a lot of Battleship when I was younger, but I don't remember there being any spiky flaming marbles with sharp chain whips for tails being lobbed back and forth. Maybe that's a newer version of the game?
The movie stars Liam Neeson, Brooklyn Decker, more than one "Friday Night Lights" alum, "True Blood" stud Alexander Skarsgard, and Rihanna, who has a haircut and shoots a large gun.
