First 'Avengers' Clip: Watch Scarlett Johansson Kick Butt

We've had trailers, trailers and more trailers thus far, but today we get the first clip of a scene from "The Avengers." After all, we're just one month away from the day the movie hits theaters!

This first clip released by Marvel isn't focused on our superpowered heroes, like Thor or Captain America. Rather, the clip features Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, as she grows impatient with reverse-interrogating some military men.

The clip should give Joss Whedon fans some comfort, knowing that Whedon was able to bring his brand of action/comedy blend to the movie: as Black Widow disposes of the three interrogators while tied to a chair (impressive, no?), Agent Coulson waits patiently on the other line.

So it's not the usual ass-kicking teenage girl that often ends up in Whedon projects (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and River Tam of "Firefly" are prime examples), but it works. It just wouldn't be Whedon without a girl kicking the crap out of a bunch of dudes.

"The Avengers" premieres in Los Angeles next week, and releases in theaters on May 4.
