'Finding Nemo' Sequel Finally Gets a Title. Meet 'Finding Dory'.
by Zack Wells
Disney has finally given us a little snippet of information about the long-hinted at “Finding Nemo” sequel today via their Facebook page. And no, this isn’t an April Fools’ joke.
Firstly, the film will be titled “Finding Dory”.
Secondly, the film will be released November 25th, 2015.
So what do we know about this movie so far?
Well, it will be directed by Andrew Stanton, director of “Finding Nemo” and “WALL-E”. It will also feature Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres reviving their roles of Marlin and Dory.
Director Andrew Stanton has also said of the plot in “Finding Dory”: “One thing we couldn’t stop thinking about was why she was all alone in the ocean on the day she met Marlin. In Finding Dory, she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way.”
So what do you think about this movie? Are you excited, or has Disney Pixar’s latest track record with films kind of dampened your enthusiasm?
While “Toy Story 2” and “Toy Story 3” were wildly successful, “Cars 2” was widely panned by critics and audiences alike. And with the less-than-amazing “Brave”, Disney Pixar has been on a rocky road lately.
I, for one, will save my excitement until I am able to watch “Monsters University”, another upcoming prequel/sequel of one of my favorite Disney Pixar films. If they handle it well, then maybe “Cars 2” was just a horrible fluke, and “Finding Dory” will be equally as amazing as “Finding Nemo”. But if “Monsters University” is a flop, then I will be one sad man.
Either way, keep your eyes peeled for more information. The film is still a long ways off, but the casting news is sure to trickle in over the next few months. And, as always, make sure to catch “Finding Dory” in theaters November 25th, 2015.
