Financial Woes Bear Down On 'Real Housewives...' Armstrong Family

Financial Woes Bear Down On 'Real Housewives...' Armstrong Family It is with no glee whatsoever that I say this, but things will probably be getting worse for the Armstrong family long before they get better.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" family still suffers under aftershocks following Russell Armstrong's recent suicide and revelations about his coming role on the series' upcoming season.

Now comes word via Perez Hilton that dire financial straits may soon await widow Taylor Armstrong.

At the moment, sources tell Hilton that the widow Armstrong isn't sure how she'll continue supporting the couple's daughter.

"She had plans to write a book before Russell committed suicide, but now she doesn't know what she is going to do," the "source" said.

"Taylor is scrambling to find a way to earn a living, but she isn't sure how she's going to make ends meet. Taylor's salary from the Bravo reality show was not as lucrative as they wanted people to think. Everything is currently on hold."

Hilton has already reported that Taylor may sit down with Barbara Walters for her first interview following Russell's suicide.

Bravo brass, meanwhile, have entered their own damage-control mode defending moving forward with the show's premiere. While doing so, the network has promised that the coming season will feature numerous PSAs for suicide awareness and great visibility for suicide-prevention and awareness organizations during Bravo programming and via the network's website.

“Bravo will proceed with the September 5 premiere date of ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’" confirmed Frances Berwick, President, Bravo Media. "Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Re-editing of the episodes is still underway."

I can't help but suggest that Bravo proceed with great caution going forward, especially since I get the feeling more and more concerning this situation will seep into public awareness.

Better still, Bravo execs, get World Wrestling Entertainment Owner Vince McMahon on the phone, STAT. Ask him what he learned and experienced going "on with the show" following Owen Hart's death in the middle of a pay-per-view, or airing a sterling tribute to Chris Benoit just as the details of his horrific murder of his family followed by his suicide breeched national news coverage.

Ask him what he learned NOT to do.

Meanwhile, Bravo has confirmed that the remaining "Real Housewives..." cast, sans Taylor, gathered to film a special episode celebrating Russell's life and confronting the circumstances of his death.
