Three Films to Take the Kids to This Holiday Season!

With the holiday season in full swing, most people find themselves run ragged and stressed out from the shopping mall stampede.  One way to deal with the holiday rush is to take a two hour pause and indulge in a film-break.  Since the holidays are all about family, though, here are a few ideas that will work for the whole gang.

<a href=Tangled Movie Poster" src="//cfm.yidio.com/images/article/images/artcile_144.jpg" style="margin: 5px; float: left; width: 150px; height: 222px;" />Tangled – A Disney retelling of the classic Grimm Brothers fairytale, Rapunzel, “Tangled” hits theatres Thanksgiving weekend.  The film seems to have all the Disney standards including a spunky heroine, a handsome hero and assorted adorable animal friends.  This should be a reliable option which will allow parents to sit down and rest their tired bodies while also sharing a laugh with their kids.

<a href=The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Poster" src="http://chareyes.com/wp-content/gallery/top-10-movies-of-2010/voyageofthedawntreaderfanposter.png" style="margin: 5px; float: right; width: 150px; height: 213px;" />The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader – The third movie in the slightly faltering Narnia series, this film is another tale from the Christian author,  C.S. Lewis.  Featuring the two youngest siblings from the earlier films, “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” combines the swashbuckling of a pirate film with the fantastical world of Narnia.  The stories of Narnia are all Christian allegories, so for those looking for a more spiritual film to celebrate Christmas, this may be the one.  It opens December 10th.

<a href=Yogi Bear 2010" src="http://media.theiapolis.com/d3/hDW/i1NN/t4/u1/wDW/yogi-bear-2010.jpg" style="margin: 5px; float: left; width: 150px; height: 222px;" />Yogi Bear – Another CGI-infused remake of a cartoon classic, this film comes to theatres December 17th.  Like Scooby-Doo and Garfield before it, Yogi Bear takes the characters from a vintage cartoon and turns them into CGI creations that then interact with live-action actors.  Yogi is voiced by actor, Dan Ackroyd while Yogi’s faithful sidekick, Boo-Boo is voiced by pop-star-turned-actor, Justin Timberlake.  Sure to have lots of slapstick comedy to keep the little ones giggling, this film should also hold enough retro nostalgia to keep parents happy too.
