'Fate of the Furious' Wins Another Weekend

In a surprise upset, How to Be a Latin Lover is beating The Circle at the North American box office, although no new film will be able to run The Fate of the Furious off the road.

Fate of the Furious will stay atop the chart in its third weekend with an estimated $18.5 million for a domestic total of $192 million through Sunday and more than $1 billion globally. The action pic grossed $5.1 million Friday.

How to Be a Latin Lover followed with a Friday haul of $3.9 million from 1,000 locations for a projected $12 million weekend, well ahead of expectations. The comedy stars popular Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez opposite Salma Hayek and is from Pantelion Films, a joint venture of Lionsgate and Televisa.
