Fans Want Zack Snyder Fired from Justice League

As proof that online petitions are a serious tool for effecting social change on monumental issues, competing groups this week launched petitions to rally support around one of the most pressing questions facing our society: should Zack Snyder be allowed to direct The Justice League?

After Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was subjected to negative reviews, some fans jumped on board the critical band wagon and started a change.org petition to persuade Warner Bros. to remove Snyder as director of the upcoming Justice League movie.

"Zack Snyder is not the person to bring the Justice League to the big screen," the petition argues. "He's had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has produced middling results."

As of Thursday afternoon, the petition had received 11,819 signatures.

Coming to Snyder's defense was another fan who launched a competing, supportive petition.

"There is no need to fire a compentant [sic] director who loves this franchise and does his best to bring us quality DC movies," the second petition claims.

The pro-Snyder petition has received only 4,142 signatures.

Snyder need not worry about his job security, however. Considering that Batman v Superman has, at this point, brought in more than $500 million in ticket sales worldwide, it's safe to say that Warner Bros. is paying more attention to fans who are voting for Snyder with their wallets than those who are signing online petitions.
