'Family Guy' Season 11, Episode 18: 'Bigfat' Recap

'Family Guy' Season 11, Episode 18: 'Bigfat' RecapFamily Guy”, season 11, Episode 18, “Bigfat”

The Griffin family visit their new neighbors, who moved into Cleveland’s old house. Peter finds it weird. The family seems to be the Smith Family from “American Dad”. Peter wakes up after Stan starts shooting him. As he tells Lois about his dream, Hank Hill from “King Of The Hill” walks into their room, asking Lois why there’s a fat man in their bed. Hank Hill wakes up from his nightmare in bed with Peggy, mad because he always wakes up before he finds out of they can understand Stewie.

The Family Guy intro plays out, but it’s actually the “King of the Hill” intro with the “King of the Hill” characters replaced with the “Family Guy” characters. Clever.

In their backyard, Quagmire and Joe help Peter build a jungle gym for Stewie. Peter and Joe are surprised that Quaqmire was able to build it so quickly, because the instructions were in French. He reveals that he speaks French, and it comes in useful for when he’s stuck in Montreal. He tells Joe and Peter they should go to Montreal to the magical Canadian Nudie Bar. They agree to go after a song and dance. He tells them that they have to lie to their wives about where they’re going.

Peter tells Lois and the family that he’s going to Montreal, and they ask why they can’t go with him, so he empties a bag of rattlesnakes into the living room and walks out the door.

At the airport, Quagmire has Peter and Joe board his private plane. As they fly, Peter pulls a stupid prank and ends up opening the door of the plane while it’s in the air, causing it to crash land into the wilderness. Their cellphones don’t work, and they realize they have no food or water.

They build a shelter, but still haven’t found food. Peter says they have to hunt some animals, and that he set up some traps. Quagmire falls into one and breaks his legs. They realize that no one is coming to help them, and since Peter is the only one with functioning legs, he’ll have to be the one to go for help.

As they watch Peter walk away, a man walks past them. He says they’re in his backyard in Canada, but he didn’t come to help them because he feared it would be rude to intrude on their plane crash. They celebrate being saved, and the man brings them back to his house. Sans Peter. They says that Peter went to get help, and their rescuer says that there’s nothing where he went except wilderness.

2 months later, Lois and a rescue team scour the woods via helicopter. Having no sighting, the ranger tells her that they’re giving up on the search. As they do, a man rushes in and says that they found a doll in the woods that likely belonged to Peter. They take the helicopter to where they found the doll, and the family splits up to look for him. They find him in the bushes chewing on a tree branch. He cowers in fear, and Brian remarks that he must have turned feral.

They bring Peter home, and the family discusses how it’s possible he became feral so quickly. They vow to reintroduce him to society. Luckily for them, Peter prerecorded videos just in case he ever became feral, however, one the videos only enrages him.

Stewie decides to try bonding with Peter by singing with him.

That night, when trying to sleep, feral Peter gets into the trash.

A few days later, Joe and Quagmire pay them a visit, and Lois says that they’ve tried everything and Peter’s not getting better. Brian says that maybe it’s best they release him into the wild.

Lois takes him to some woods (barely outside of town, next to an Arby’s), and she tries to release him. The family says their goodbyes, Meg last. As she speaks, Peter begins to grunt “Shut up, Meg”. He repeats it over and over until finally “coming to”. The family celebrates.

At home, Peter says that he was able to relearn all of his vocabulary in a day, and that Quagmire is taking him and Joe to the Canadian Strip Club for a special surprise. They actually get there this time, and it’s Mrs. Garrett from “Facts of Life” and “Diff’rent Strokes” dancing for them.
