Falling Tree Kills 'Chicago Fire' Actress

Falling Tree Kills 'Chicago Fire' Actress A horrible accident claimed the life of "Chicago Fire" actress Molly Glynn over the weekend.

Glynn was bike riding with her husband Joe Foust when they were caught in a sudden and major storm. An uprooted tree fell on the actress as they made their way to safety in what a family friend has called a "freak accident."

Friday, the two were on their favorite biking trail, the North Branch, and were 25 miles into their ride. The weather changed abruptly, and Glynn, who was riding behind her husband, yelled that they should take cover. A moment later, Foust heard a crack, and saw a tree fall behind him in the rear-view mirror of his bicycle.

"It was harsh and quick," said Foust of Glynn's death. The actress had been wearing a helmet.

The two had been married four years. "I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her. She's gone," Foust wrote in a Facebook message. "Love hard, people. Love hard."

Glynn died from her injuries in the hospital. Her husband noted that her organs had been donated.

"Molly was a marvelous actress and a completely warm hearted and generous human being," said Michael Halberstam, artistic director at Chicago's Writers Theater, where Glynn was known as an accomplished stage actress.

"She had grace, sophistication and a sparkling, sexy, sassy stage presence. She could transform from a princess to a flower girl in the twinkling of an eye. She was a loving mother and wife and everyone who met her fell in love with her."

Glynn, 46, who played a doctor on "Chicago Fire," is survived by two teenage sons.
