Fall TV: What's Not Coming Back?
by EG
Fall is a long way off, but spring is the season when we find out which series from last season won't be on the schedules of TV networks at the end of this year. Fall schedules are due out next week, and with them comes bad news for all the series that will not be invited back for another season.
On Fox, where ratings have been bleak this year, that distinction already belongs to Minority Report, which got its cancellation notice some time ago. Things are also not looking good for The Grinder, Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, or Second Chance.
Over at CBS, CSI: Cyber and Rush Hour are in a precarious spot and probably won't be back. Almost all of the network's other new series have been renewed, although the fate of Supergirl is still up in the air.
At ABC, things have been relatively brutal. Blood and Oil, Wicked City and Of Kings and Prophets have already been cancelled, and Galavant, Marvel's Agent Carter and The Family are in danger, too. The Muppets, which at one time looked like it was going to be a big hit, is also unlikely to get a renewal.
NBC has already cancelled Heroes Reborn, Truth Be Told and The Player, and Game of Silence, Heartbeat and You, Me and the Apocalypse are also probably going to end up on the chopping block.
On The CW, everything is rosy, as every series that aired regularly this season will be back in the fall.
