Episode 'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 21 - 'Shattered Bass' Recap

Episode 'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 21 - 'Shattered Bass' Recap I just can’t imagine my world without "Gossip Girl" in it, and for the next 7 days I won’t have to. Tonight’s episode was the epitome of predictable but I love being right, so everyone wins.

During the first five minutes of "Shattered Bass," we find out that Nate is going to crash with Raina to get away from Chuck, Dan invites Charlie to the Constance fundraiser and Blair is still having dreams, or nightmares, about her love triangle.

Only in the world of "GG" would anyone think it was appropriate to date the cousin of the ex love of their life. Dan invites crazypants Charlie to the Constance fundraiser, and the little tramp plants a smooch square on his lips. It's all downhill from there as Charlie quickly goes further and further down the single white female path.

Blair is still obviously reeling from her encounter with Chuck last week but she won't let anything stop her from becoming royalty - or will she? Eleanor and Cyrus are preparing for the engagement party du jour that should hopefully put Blair back in the good graces of Princess Sophie, aka the cold-hearted mother-in-law-to-be.

Sophie had someone trailing Blair and saw her go to Chuck's apartment, post-Prince proposal. When she mentions this to Louis he follows suit, literally, and follows Blair himself. Of course, B has to jet over to Chuck's new hotel to warn him that evil Uncle Jack is back in town.

The engagement party is pretty uneventful but thankfully Cyrus is up on his bird watching and melts the ice off Sophie's veins. Louis confronts Blair, who looked stunning btw, and says he wants to know everything about her past or there will be no Will & Kate style nuptials. What should the queen of mean do? Spill all her dirty secrets and see if her Prince can take it?

Lily Humphrey is no where to be found, but Serena is spotted giving fashion advice to Charlie who is freaking about her night out with Dan. Charlie goes full blown SWF (single white female) on S when she ogles over a picture of S and Dan at cotillion and styles her hair in a Serena upsweep. Barf. Did we mention that Charlie also got access to her trust fund and dumped her crazy pills in the trash? A perfect storm.

Back in Bassville, Chuck and Uncle Jack are reunited only long enough for Jack to dig up all of Chuck's darkest days and have him escorted to rehab. Once again, Nate is in the shadows dropping a word or two. Can we get this kid a storyline? Russell Thorpe has conspired with Jack to take over Chuck's business and his belongings. Thorpe wants to get his hands on the tape of the fire that killed his wife, Avery.

There's a first time for everything. Jack Bass was only staging the whole Chuck rehab scenario. He had a funny feeling that something was fishy and boy was he right.

Epiphany!!! Bart Bass did not kill Avery, Russell did and it's all on tape. Chuck tells Russell to get out of town and never come back in return for keeping this secret from Raina. He obliges and hits the road.

Everything comes to a head at the Constance/St. Jude party. Dan and Serena are making nice when Charlie arrives in S's cotillion gown. After words are exchanged, and Dan takes Charlie's side, the two head upstairs for a naughty romp.

Dan and Charlie's clothes are coming off and they are about to do the deed when Charlie makes the creepiest request of all time. "Call me Serena," she says. DING, DING, DING we have a winner folks. Certifiably batsh*t crazy.

Nate unleashes the "who really killed your mommy" beast on Raina which sets Russell off. He makes a U-turn for the party. Coincidently Blair gets a call that Chuck is on the roof of the party and he is going to jump unless she comes to his rescue. We knew B's heart still belonged to Chuck so off she goes to save her true love. She ends up alone on the roof with Russell which means big trouble for B.

Snap! I can't wait for this finale. The preview shows a suicidal Charlie, Russell aka the pyromaniac with a lighter in hand and OMFG what in the H-E-double hockey sticks is Georgina Sparks doing here?
