Episode 'Glee' Season 2, Episode 19 - 'Rumours' Recap

Episode 'Glee' Season 2, Episode 19 - 'Rumours' Recap So, Brittany has a her own talk show combining her two favorite things, "hot cheese and talking to people." She totally outs Santana to Tina and Mercedes...and all of YouTube. That was...a very interesting intro. Roll title!

Meanwhile, Rachel asks Sam to prom, and he declines. Ouch. She got him chapstick and everything.

Sue is still plotting with Terri, and wants to bring the school newspaper back to start some rumors. She's also "coming a little unhinged," as evidenced by her David Bowie and Ann Coulter disguises.

So far, the plan is working way too well...the rumors in the paper already have Finn storming out the door. When April Rhodes returns, (that whole all-white production of "The Wiz" didn't go so well) she notes that the Glee club is acting a lot like Fleetwood Mac...whose songs will provide the soundtrack for this episode.

That brings us to the assignment for the week: no more backstabbing, sing a song from the album "Rumours." If you're wondering why this episode has the "u" spelling, there's your answer.

Artie and Brittany get in a fight over Santana, and Artie calls her stupid. Whoops. Turns out he was the only one who hadn't called her that. And, uh...I guess Puck is magic and can appear out of nowhere with a guitar.

Rachel and Finn work a stakeout at the motel to see if Quinn is actually cheating with Sam, but they end up spotting Sam coming out of a motel room with...Kurt? Wha?

It looks like the reason for this episode is for the writers to comment on the fact that the relationships on this show really have gotten truly ridiculous. There have been more relationship combinations in this show than Journey songs. And that's saying a lot.

Santana sings to Brittany to confess her feelings, and Britt offers to have Santana on her show so she can ask her to prom, which, surprisingly, Santana agrees to.

Rachel confronts Kurt about Sam, who deflects the question. Then later, Rachel and Finn (on another stakeout...don't they have homework or something?) see Quinn coming out of the motel with Sam. Gasp!

Brittany conducts an interview with Will, who finds out that Sue is behind all the rumors...including one that he's leaving McKinley to pursue a career on Broadway. When he confronts Sue about it, Will realizes that maybe Sue is right: he could pursue a career on Broadway. This one's pretty clearly in reference to rumors that Matthew Morrison could leave "Glee" to pursue his solo career.

Quinn insists that she's not cheating, and Finn has to defend himself about Rachel. The duet between Finn and Quinn suffers because of it, and things between the kids are only getting worse. As Quinn says, "no more songs with her [Rachel]."

Brittany gets stood up by Santana, so she interviews Lord Tubbington. That cat gets the award for performance of the week. That is one hilarious cat.

Will and April perform one of her songs, and Emma sees it. She actually tries to convince Will to go take a chance on it, but Will knows that he needs to stay at McKinley because of the kids...and Emma.

Rachel accuses Quinn of cheating, and the whole thing comes around to Sam and what he's doing with Kurt and Quinn...and it turns out his dad lost his job and they're actually living in the motel. So, uh, that was awkward. Rachel and Finn (boy, they're doing a lot of stuff together) bring Sam's pawned guitar back to him. Aww.

Next week, it's prom time! And sure enough, Jonathan Groff is back!
