Episode 'American Idol' Season 10, Episode 33 - Jordin Sparks Performs, 1 of 4 Voted Off Recap So, last night we saw everyone perform well, but Haley was the only one the judges picked on. Was Haley's fiery reaction and her second performance enough to save her again? If so, who the heck else is going home?

Seacrest notes that they got a record-breaking number of votes last night...so that's a good indicator that the fans at home were fired up.

The first duet of the night is between James and Scotty, as they sing "Start a Band." Will one of them have to do that after tonight? God I hope Scotty does...after saying that he wanted to "pray for" Lady Gaga, I wanted to smack him. Those kids sitting on the stage with ukeleles look really bored.

Haley and Lauren follow up with "Gunpowder and Lead." So, let me get this straight: just because America has a boner for Scotty and Lauren, James and Haley are forced to sing country songs? Seriously, let's just call this show "Country Idol" and get it over with.

We get a little scene of the Idols talking to their families. It would normally be a chance for a touching look into the lives of the contestants, but of course it's just a big advertisement for Windows Live. James and his family are still pretty charming though.

First Results:

The first one to sit on the golden stool for the top three contestants is Lauren, who literally jumps for joy. Fair enough I suppose...the talent is certainly there, but she's still a little too immature to win this in my opinion. I mean, the girl had a problem with singing "I'm Evil" last night. If she can't say that, how can she be a performer?

Safe: Lauren

Lady Gaga is here to perform now, looking considerably less frightening than last night. But still wearing underwear. She sings the song that Haley was chastised for choosing a couple of weeks ago because nobody (i.e. the judges) knew it. Well, now they do. Her performance consists of playing the piano in increasingly uncomfortable positions.

Following Gaga is Enrique Iglesias, who apparently is relevant again. I didn't get that memo.

That's followed by the Ford commercial--er, "music video" with the Idols singing Owl City's "Fireflies." Apparently Owl City is relevant again too. They draw a car out of light. I had no idea they wielded that kind of power.

Jordin Sparks, who won season six, is here to debut a new single, "I Am Woman." She says "It ain't easy walking in a stiletto, but someone's gotta do it." Do they? I didn't know there was a legal mandate on stiletto-wearing. Also, Jordin needs to work on her jacket removal skills.

Next up is the debut of Steven Tyler's new music video "It Feels So Good," and I think he's chillin with a sloth. Good lord, even Steven Tyler's video is a Ford commercial! Also, I don't think we've seen the Idols for the last 40 minutes.

Second Results:

Whoa! Haley is safe! I'm...actually genuinely shocked. I think she's done really well lately, so it's well deserved. But after the shellacking she got from the judges, I'm surprised she made it. Wow, so either James or Scotty is going home. James is already crying, but could America have really voted him off? I was under the impression that everybody loved him. I reiterate: I would love to see Scotty go. He's a talented dude, but booooooring.

But Scotty isn't the one to go...it's James. That's both a shock and a shame. But hey, he gets to see his family. The recap of James' run reminds us how much more he deserves this than any of the rest of the contestants.

Safe: Scotty, Haley

Eliminated: James Durbin
