Episode 'American Idol' Season 10, Episode 27 - Katy Perry Performs, 1 of 7 Voted Off Recap Before we start, I'd just like to note that a girl in the audience has a sign that says "Steven, U Jaded Me." Really? "Jaded" is the Aerosmith song you're going to reference?

By "Steven-isms," Ryan, you mean "f-bombs."

Haley, Lauren, Stefano and Jacob perform Train's "Hey Soul Sister." It's a crappy song choice to begin with, and the harmony doesn't help them any. Make. It. Stop. Please.

Phew, that's over. It'll be good to have another voted off so we don't have any quartets anymore...they just don't work. Last week's Simon & Garfunkel mess wasn't any good either.

The Ford commercial--I mean, music video comes up, and it turns out the Idols can terraform deserts. Why aren't they doing more of that instead of singing?

Casey, Scotty and James sing Coldplay's "Viva La Vida." Ha! How do you like that, Scotty? No more country music for you! He's still cradling his microphone though. Grrrr...

What a dramatic, introspective ending. Well, at least James didn't go up the octave while Scotty goes down the octave.

Casey got a crazy painting from a fan by the name of Michiru Kusaka. In it, he exists with his dog inside of his cello. Or something like that, I've never been good at interpreting art.

First Results:

Casey and Jacob are on the block. Casey was a huge hit last night, and Jacob gave a very emotional performance but had a technical glitch last night and powered through. Casey is safe (no surprise) but Jacob is in the bottom three. It's not exactly deserved, but hey...someone has to go.

Last season's winner David Cook is up to perform his new single. I never really liked his Creed-esque singing style, so color me unimpressed. Next!

David's mom goes up and gets a smooch from Steven Tyler. Everybody is totally creeped out.

The gang recounts their week off, which still just looks like they're shooting videos for the tour and doing publicity. Lauren totally beats everybody in bowling. Then they go to...a spa? Scotty looks uncomfortable. But to be fair, his nails do look totally awesome.

Second Results:

Lauren, James and Stefano are on the block. James is pretty much a lock to stay, and sure enough Stefano goes to the stools. Lauren is safe.

Next up are Scotty and Haley. Haley's "Rolling in the Deep" killed it, but in a total shocker she takes a stool...until she gets Seacrested! Oh snap! Haley's actually safe.

Time for Katy Perry's "E.T." performance, which starts off with a video of Kanye's part. Guess he didn't want to show up, eh? She's totally trying to Gaga it up with weird costumes and being carried in. I mean, her suit lights up. Wait...so Kanye is there after all? Why was he on video at the beginning?

Final Results:

Time for the choice between Jacob and Stefano. As much as Stefano improved, it would be a shocker to see Jacob go. Sure enough, Stefano is the one to go. James is in tears. Stefano exits with "Lately."
