Episode '30 Rock' Season 5, Episode 18 - 'Plan B' Recap It's always going to be a good night on "30 Rock" when Will Arnett shows up!

This week's episode saw the "TGS" crew reeling as Tracy is still away "in Africa." When Jack puts the show on a forced hiatus, everyone freaks out and starts going to their "plan B." Frank goes back to stand-up, Pete returns to substitute teaching, and Sue goes to her fallback job as a psychic detective (no, seriously). I wonder what Lutz's "plan B" is? It probably involves a good deal of crying.

Liz finds herself panicking has she doesn't have a back-up plan, so she starts looking for more work as a writer. A run-in with Aaron Sorkin (playing himself in a brilliantly Aaron-Sorkin-style scene) reveals that the written word is dead: reality TV is taking over, "Transformers 5" doesn't even have a script, and newspaper boxes are "a toilet. Or a woman. Whatever you want it to be."

Jack, meanwhile, finds himself in hot water with his new boss as he pushed for the acquistion of a gay network rather unfortunately called "TWINKS." The network is a failure so far (I don't know why, because "Gay SportsCenter" looks hilarious), but Jack is so determined not to give up that he does something desperate: he calls in "the gay Jack Donaghy," Devon Banks.

Will Arnett dazzles as always with his over-the-top character of Devon, who is now a stay-at-home father with a set of triplets. A good old-fashioned power struggle ensues between the two which is sadly cut short when Devon realizes how much he misses his kids. What happened to him?

Just as things were starting to look very grim for "TGS," Kenneth (who has been busy trying to save the show with his "bird internet" idea) mentions to Liz that Tracy is always eating pizza when he talks to him on the computer. Liz realizes that Tracy is still in New York, and all she has to do it go find him! It looks like Kenneth is going to have a job to do next week...
