Entire 'Community' Cast - Even Chevy - Locked In For Season Four
by Sean ComerWell, let the speculation begin that this couldn't have happened without a smackdown on Dan Harmon.
The fourth (it's been speculated, final) year at Greendale Community College will boast perfect student and faculty attendance. Deadline announced Thursday that NBC picked up all "Community" cast members' contracts for the 2012-2013 season, set for a 13-episode run.
Yes, that includes Chevy Chase.
The "Saturday Night Live" alum intimated this past April, "I probably won't be around that much longer" and later engaged in an on-set altercation with creator/executive producer Dan Harmon. After the ugly incident between the two, Chase left Harmon an angry, profanity-laced voicemail that Harmon then played for a crowd of cast, crew members and their families - including Chase's - at a wrap party. Surely, that played a role in Harmon being officially ousted as "Community" showrunner this past March, though he was kept on as a consultant.
Harmon was replaced with Moses Port and David Guarascio.
The network further announced that performers Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs and Danny Pudi would all be present for a special "Community" panel during July's San Diego Comic Con. Chase will reportedly be out of town and unable to attend, but will join remaining regulars Donald Glover, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong when the show begins the next season's production.
The series recently won Best Comedy Series at the annual Television Critics Association Awards. It's the first major award bestowed upon the cult-beloved series.
