Emma Roberts Pushes For a 'Pretty Woman' Remake

Does the world need another “Pretty Woman?” Emma Roberts thinks so. She is reportedly trying to stir up interest in a remake—starring herself in the role her smiley aunt made famous.

Sources say, “Emma’s dream is to re-create Pretty Woman, it’s her ideal role. She’s been in talks with producers about the possibility of revisiting the character Julia made famous in a reboot of the original film… Emma grew up loving Pretty Woman. It had sentimental meaning for her because her aunt was in it, and she can quote chunks of the movie off by heart."

Roberts is reminding producers that, "Critically and commercially it was a big success too. Julia was up for awards, and Emma wants to be just as successful."

Sadly, just because Julia Roberts received awards for her role doesn’t mean a remake would get the same kind of treatment. “Pretty Woman” was financially the most successful romantic comedy of all time, grossing $463 million worldwide. Julia Roberts won a Golden Globe and Academy Award for her role.

Roberts the Younger dressed up as the prostitute with the heart of gold, Vivian Ward, for Halloween, and while she definitely has the family resemblance, is it enough to spark interest in a new version of a much-loved film?

“Emma grew up loving Pretty Woman. It had sentimental meaning for her because her aunt was in it, and she can quote chunks of the movie off by heart,” the sources add.

If Roberts can get this off the ground, who would you like to see stepping in for Richard Gere as yummy businessman Edward Lewis?
