Yidio Video of the Day: Eminem and Chrysler WIN With Two Minute Super Bowl Ad

Yidio Video of the Day: Eminem and Chrysler WIN With Two Minute Super Bowl Ad Eminem might not be your immediate choice for a spokesman for a car, even a luxury car.

But Chrysler decided to play up its roots in Detroit and chose a hometown boy to represent them. And represent them well he did. Chrysler produced the first ever commercial to air during the Super Bowl that lasted the whole two minute commercial break.

Some people say it was not a wise choice. However, those living and breathing the situation in Michigan think Eminem and Chrysler rocked it. It signifies that Michigan, as well as the rest of America that has been struggling, is coming back. Stronger than ever.

Eminem is a well known Michigan boy. His movie "Eight Mile" showed his climb to the top and how hard he worked to get there. He has also worked hard at getting himself through rehab and cleaned up.

From SideLion:

"Anyone that expects a television commercial to change the perception of Detroit is delusional. That being said, Chrysler’s ad did a great job of portraying Detroit attitude and showing the nation that there is more to the city and region than what they hear on the news.Perhaps subsequent airings of the ad will have more of a positive effect on Detroit’s image but it appears the initial excitement is limited to those tied to the area."

What do you think? Did Eminem and Chrysler speak to the small towns and areas that are affected by the economic situation? Did you think the ad was a winner or a loser in the Super Bowl Ads?

Overall, the ads seemed to be a bit on the disappointing side.

The Budweiser Clydesdales only made one appearance.

And then it was Pepsi and McDonalds that towed the line. Where were all the fun commercials of year’s past? Were they finally priced out of the market?
