Ellen DeGeneres to Launch Two New Series, Three Movies
by EGMaybe because she's learned from Oprah's mistakes, Ellen DeGeneres isn't launching her own network just yet, but otherwise she's being extremely productive. As head of her A Very Good Production company, DeGeneres is in the process of creating two new TV series and three new full-length films.
The latest production announced by the company, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, is a design competition series that will air on HGTV. Called "Ellen's Design Challenge," the series will feature six competitors as they design and build unique furniture.
Also on the agenda for A Very Good Production is a sitcom pilot called "One Big Happy," which is under development for NBC. The series is about a lesbian and her straight male friend who are attempting to have a baby together; it will star Elisha Cuthbert, Nick Zano and Kelly Brook.
In the feature-film arena, DeGeneres and company are working on "Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure," a kid-based comedy about two girls who get sent by Ellen to report on the coronation of the queen of a fictional country; the movie will debut direct to video in May. Also on the schedule is a film based on the Jodi Picoult novel "Sing You Home" and an untitled project starring Rebel Wilson.
