Ellen Deals with 'Finding Dory' Oscar Snub

Ellen DeGeneres, who provided the voice for the lead character in Pixar's Finding Dory, couldn't ignore the snub given to the film with Tuesday's Oscar nominations. On her talk show, Degeneres went as far as to claim that the movie actually did get a nomination, at least in some "alternative" reality.

Despite being the second-highest-grossing film of 2016, Finding Dory was shut out of the Best Animated Feature category when nominees were announced earlier this week. Nominees in the category included Kubo and the Two Strings, Moana, My Life As A Zucchini, The Red Turtle and Zootopia.

Of the nominees, only Zooptopia was among the ten highest-grossing films of the year. Sing and The Secret Life of Pets, which were also among the most financially successful films of the year, also failed to get nominations.

DeGeneres joked that "aternative facts" say that her movie did get a nomination. That's a jab at Donald Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway who over the weekend used the phrase to explain falsehoods presented during a White House press conference.
