Eliza Dushku Cast in Damon Wayans CBS Sports Comedy Pilot

"Dollhouse" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" star Eliza Dushku is known for her butt-kicking lead roles in sci-fi action shows, but the latest casting news has her going in another direction: comedy.

"It is with insanest excitement & awesomeness I get to finally fill you guys in: I've just landed a new CBS comedy pilot w/ my comic idol Mr. Damon Wayans!" Dushku announced on her Facebook page today.

"Stay tuned, there is a serious happy dance occurring at the moment!"

So what is this mystery CBS comedy pilot of which she speaks? It is none other than the CBS sports radio show that will star Damon Wayans.

The show is a multi-camera sitcom written by the "Grounded for Life" team and produced by sports personality Colin Cowherd, on whom the show is based.

Will Dushku be able to handle the rapid-fire joke-telling requirements of a traditional sitcom? I'd say so. "Dollhouse" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" were both action shows, but they were Joss Whedon action shows, which contain a surprising amount of wit and humor. Plus, Dushku has guest-starred on "The Big Bang Theory" this season, so she seems to be all set to star in her own CBS sitcom.
