E.L. James Wrote a New 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Book

It was only a matter of time, really.
Author E.L. James announced today that she has written a new book in her "Fifty Shades of Grey" series, and it will be published June 18. That's less than three weeks away!
The book will simply be titled Grey, and will follow the same events as the first Fifty Shades of Grey novel. However, instead of being from the point of view of Anastasia Steele, this time readers will hear the story from Christian Grey's side.
If you're wondering about the quick release date and why it would hit shelves with so little time for press and buzz, there's a symbolic reason for the date. "For those of you who have asked, Christian's POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday," James wrote on Twitter. "It's called GREY... I hope you enjoy it."
James dedicates the book in the first few pages to the fans who, according to her, asked repeatedly for a book from Christian Grey's perspective. "Christian is a complex character," James said, “and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place—writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage."
Meanwhile, the "Fifty Shades" movie performed well at the box office despite lackluster reviews and has earned a sequel based on the second novel in the trilogy, "Fifty Shades Darker." However, the director and writer for the first movie will not return for the second, and James has already gotten her husband newly hired to pen the script.
