Egyptian President Mubarak just announced he has stepped down after weeks of protests and violence throughout the streets of Cairo and Alexandria.
In an announcement on the state TV channel, Vice-President Omar Suleiman said Mubarak had handed over power of Egypt to the military, sending cheering crowds of victorious protestors teeming through the streets.
