Ed Harris and 'Lost' Star Matthew Fox Join Brad Pitt in Zombie Flick 'World War Z'

Ed Harris and 'Lost' Star Matthew Fox Join Brad Pitt in Zombie Flick 'World War Z' Zombies are in. They're hip. They're vogue. They're so in style that the upcoming zombie apocalypse flick "World War Z" has already landed names like Brad Pitt and is closing deals on two more: "Lost" star Matthew Fox, and veteran actor Ed Harris.

"World War Z" is an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Max Brooks. The story takes place a decade after a zombie outbreak nearly wiped out the entire human race, but a number of survivors still live and fight to stay uninfected. Paramount, who is behind the project, reportedly has plans to make the movie into a series if it sees some success.

Ed Harris is still in talks for his role, and he would be a good get for the film. However, his schedule might be a bit of a conflict, as he is currently involved in HBO's "Game Change" where he plays John McCain, and he is committed to "The Geography of Hope" with Aaron Eckhart.

Matthew Fox isn't as much of a big name as Harris or Pitt, but could bring in "Lost" fans who watched him on the hit show for five seasons. Considering the subject matter of the movie, those same "Lost" fans should be exactly the kind of demographic Paramount wants to target. Fox has reportedly already signed on.

Production for "World War Z" is scheduled to start next month, so expect the movie to hit theaters sometime next year.
