E! Pulls Whitney Cummings' 'Love You, Mean It' Talk Show
by Shannon KeirnanAfter a short twelve-episode run, “Love You, Mean It,” the Whitney Cummings talk show, has been cancelled by E!.
The show featured Cummings commenting on headlines and trends, as well as interviewing celebrity guests like Will Ferrell and Mindy Kaling, along with sidekick Julian McCullough.
If you were hoping to get a more episodes under your belt before it leaves the air, you are sadly out of luck… “Love You, Mean It” quietly aired its final episode February 6th after only managing to bring in about half a million viewers per episode.
Chelsea Handler also executive produces through her company, Borderline Amazing Productions. The show aired before Handler’s more successful “Chelsea Lately.”
Though it aired in November, the show didn’t manage to catch viewers off the bat. It was still extended after a six-week run, but unable to bring in the numbers needed to survive.
Cummings also stars in her own show “Whitney” which NBC has brought back for a second season with their fingers crossed. It brings in about 4.1 million viewers, and renewal at this point is unlikely. After the cancellation of “Animal Practice,” “Whitney” briefly filled the slot in a hopeful move on NBC’s part to pull in new viewers that proved unsuccessful.
It’s not all bad news for Cummings, however. She created and serves as consulting producer on the popular “2 Broke Girls,” which is in its second season at CBS and continues to bring in steady viewership. It rates especially high among key demographic adults.
