'Dumb and Dumber' Sequel Still Alive, Jim Carrey Included
by Andy NeuenschwanderIf you're a fan of the endlessly quotable Farrelly Brothers masterpiece "Dumb and Dumber," you were probably saddened to hear that Jim Carrey had dropped out and the project seemed dead. And no, I don't think I'm using the term "masterpiece" lightly.
The sequel's apparent death came at the hands of Carrey, who announced a while back that the movie wasn't progressing quickly enough and that he wouldn't be a part of it. Even Warner Bros. knew that without Carrey, there would be no sequel.
But wait! Peter and Bobby Farrelly have apparently been working very hard on rewriting the script, and are just about wrapped up with it. According to them, Carrey is back on and "Dumb and Dumber To" (no, that's not a typo) is a go. No official word from Carrey yet, but we'll take their word for it for now.
The Farrellys revealed some plot points earlier, saying that the sequel would follow Lloyd and Harry as they seek out a son that one of them may have sired in order to get a kidney from him. Sounds about right.
So for now, things are looking good on the "Dumb and Dumber" front. Hey, if it keeps us from having more "Three Stooges" reboots, I'm all for it.
