DreamWorks Unleashes First 'Fright Night' Remake Clip Featuring Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin

If you like remakes, then today's your day to get excited. Are you excited yet? You should be! DreamWorks has released a little taste of the upcoming remake of the 1985 cult favorite "Fright Night," which stars Anton Yelchin ("Star Trek") and Colin Farrell ("In Bruges," "Daredevil").

Cool-as-an-icicle-in-the-freezer high school senior Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) just met his new neighbor Jerry. He's a little on the odd side, and only Charlie seems to realize it. It's OK, though. Charlie has it under control: he's figured out that Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood, and he's apparently the only one who believes it enough to stop it.

On the best of days, I'm no fan of remakes. Point in fact, a few on the horizon make me retch a little (I'm staring straight at you, "Hellraiser" remake and third "Halloween" reboot installment). Maybe it's the fact that for as much as remakes make me retch, the "Twilight" vampires make me retch harder, but I like Farrell here. He has just a little bit of that "The Lost Boys" touch to him that I could enjoy.

I should also point out that I'm not as attached to the original as some people will be, but I could see this movie getting my $10 on Aug. 19 pretty easily. In addition to Farrell and Yelchin, it also stars Toni Collette ("United States of Tara," "The Sixth Sense"), David Tennant ("Doctor Who") and Christopher Mintz-Plasse ("Kick-Ass," "Superbad").
