Does New Game of Thrones Trailer Reveal Jon Snow's Fate?
by EG
In the past year, two of the most popular series on television have forced viewers to speculate over whethera fan-favorite character was alive or dead. Fans didn't have to wait very long to discover the true fate of Glenn on The Walking Dead, but Game of Thrones fans have had to wait much longer to find out whether their beloved Jon Snow is well and truly deceased. This week's release of a new trailer for GoT's season six seems to provide an answer, and, unfortunately, the news isn't good.
The trailer opens with a shot of Snow at the Wall, looking very much dead, just as he did at the end of season five. His apparently dead body appears again later in the trailer, dressed in armor and looking as if it's being prepared for a funeral. The trailer ends with Snow's body, looking deader than ever, being watched over by his dire wolf as Ser Davos unsheaths Snow's sword. "I've never been much of a fighter," Ser tells his companions, "Apologies for what you're about to see."
The glimpses of Snow in the trailer make it clear that he is, in fact, technically dead, but fans hold out hope that even if the character begins the season lifelessly, there's still hope that he will be magically resurrected at some point.
Season 6 of Game of Thrones begins April 24, 2016, on HBO.
