'Doctor Who' Star Joins 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'

'Doctor Who' Star Joins 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' The Doctor is about to meet some zombies...but only after proposing to Miss Elizabeth Bennett.

Matt Smith, best known for his run as The Doctor in the BBC's revival of "Doctor Who," has been cast in "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

The movie, based on the book by Seth Grahme-Smith, is the follow-up to fellow historical/horror mashup "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."

This time, instead of having one of our nation's presidents fighting vampires, the story will follow what is essentially the plot of the classic novel "Pride and Prejudice," only with the occasional zombie attack.

Smith will play Mr. Collins, who attempts to win the hand of Elizabeth Bennett. Spoiler alert: it doesn't quite work out.

Smith joins the rest of the rather young cast, including Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcoate and Douglas Booth. James is set for a big year in 2015, as she's starring as Elizabeth in this movie and starring in Disney's live-action "Cinderella" remake.

As far as we know, Mr. Collins won't be time-traveling in a Tardis in this version of the story. Then again, anything could happen.
