Disney/Pixar’s ‘Monsters University’ Extended Sneak Peek (Video)

Disney/Pixar’s “Monsters University”, a prequel to the award winning “Monsters, Inc.”, is set 10 years before the events of the first film.

18-year-old James P. “Sulley” Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman) and 17-year-old Michael “Mike” Wazowski (voiced by Billy Crystal) join the same fraternity at the university, both majoring in “scaring”, hoping to land jobs at the coveted Monsters, Inc. Sulley doesn’t think Mike has a chance, and his confidence goes straight to his head. Mike sets out to prove Sulley wrong, and, thus, a health rivalry is born between the two.

Some other returning favorites are Randall Boggs (voiced by Steve Buscemi), who went on to be the bad guy in the first film, and Henry J. Waternoose (voiced by Kelsey Grammer, replacing the late James Coburn), the director of Monsters, Inc., who eventually went bad in the first film. And we can’t forget the Abominable Snowman (voiced by Pixar favorite John Ratzenberger).

Since we know how “Monsters, Inc.” begins, we can safely assume that Mike and Sulley work through their rivalry, and learn much about each other in process, as Mike seems very content being Sulley’s assistant in the original film.

“Monsters University” is set to be released June 21st, 2013, so keep your eyes out. In the meantime, enjoy the new trailer.

Are you excited for this prequel, or will it suffer the same fate as 'Cars 2'?
