Disney Is Rebooting 'DuckTales' (Woo-OO-ooo!)

Everybody ready to hop on board the nostalgia train?

Disney has announced that it will officially be rebooting "Ducktales" with an all-new series starting in 2017. The news was announced via Disney's blog today.

"'DuckTales' has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history," said Disney XD's Senior Vice President of Programming, Marc Buhaj, "it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation."

The series will air on Disney XD, one of the family of Disney networks, and will feature all of the same characters that you know and love from the original series including Launchpad McQuack, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Webbigail, the Beagle Boys and of course Scrooge McDuck.

The Emmy-winning animated series has enjoyed a small resurgence in popularity lately, which might have been the push Disney needed to greenlight the new series. Recently, a video of Disney's own creation featuring the "DuckTales" credits with real ducks went viral, gaining over 6 million views on YouTube.
