Disney Day-Trip Mends Katy Perry's Broken Heart

Katy Perry, you're a whopping few days removed from a fizzled fling with singer-songwriter/tail-hound John Mayer. What are you going to do next?!

Wait, really? Disney vacation? Well, OK, then. To Space Mountain!

Not one to do the breaststroke in her own tears after Us Weekly made the musical lovers' quick split public Aug. 23, the eight-time Grammy nominee instead scooped up best pal Shannon Woodward and made for Anaheim, Calif.'s original Mecca of Mouse Aug. 25 to let The Happiest Place on Earth turn her tide, HollywoodLife.com reports.

The pair had been involved since some time around June 19, when they were spotted together at West Hollywood's Soho House.

"Katy is determined to stay positive despite her short-lived romance with John Mayer. Her breakup with [ex-husband Russell Brand] was tough enough and she made a vow to herself that her happiness comes first and foremost," a source told the website.

Perry and the British comedian called it quits this past February following less than a year married to one another. In addition to her bestie, Perry also sought the understanding warmth of another chum who so recently left his tears upon Perry's round, supple - um - "shoulders" following his own personal upheaval.

"She asked Rob [Pattinson] to join her and Shannon, but Rob didn't want to get mobbed. Katy has been trying to be as supportive as she can for Rob. She understands what he's going through and wants to help him," the same source said.

Perry was among the first to whom Pattinson turned earlier this month when his "Twilight" co-lead and live-in girlfriend Kristen Stewart publicly copped to an affair with her married-father "Snow White and The Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

Meanwhile, it's been reported today that Perry has officially rejected a reported $20-million, one-season offer from FOX to judge the upcoming twelfth season of "American Idol" alongside Mariah Carey, rumored judge Nicki Minaj and possibly an undetermined fourth judge. Perry told executives that it just wasn't the right career choice.

Be well, Katy. Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift could certainly tell a tale or two of how messy moving past Mayer can get after the fact.
