Did Natalie Portman Date Moby or Not?

Musician Moby says that he briefly dated Natalie Portman when she was 20 and he was 33. Portman disagrees, saying that she only hung out briefly with someone she thought was a "creepy" old man. Is Natalie telling the truth, or does she just not want to admit that she dated a bald old guy? Read on for details.

Natalie Portman and Moby have different ideas of “dating.”

The musician took to Instagram after Portman, 37, refuted his claim that they dated, saying: “I recently read a gossip piece wherein Natalie Portman said that we’d never dated. This confused me, as we did, in fact, date. And after briefly dating in 1999 we remained friends for years. I like Natalie, and I respect her intelligence and activism. But, to be honest, I can’t figure out why she would actively misrepresent the truth about our(albeit brief)involvement. The story as laid out in my book Then It Fell Apart is accurate, with lots of corroborating photo evidence, etc.”

“I completely respect Natalie’s possible regret in dating me (to be fair, I would probably regret dating me, too), but it doesn’t alter the actual facts of our brief romantic history,” he added.

Moby, now 53, first claimed in his memoir, “Then It Fell Apart,” that he met Portman in his dressing room when he was 33 and she was 20. He said they started dating and he even “tried to be her boyfriend” but she ended their relationship after meeting someone else.

However, in a new interview, the “Black Swan” star recalled Moby as “creepy” — and said they did not have a relationship like the one he described.
