'Dexter' Season 7 Teaser Trailer: Is Everything Really 'As It Should Be?' (VIDEO)

Who's ready to speculate about "Dexter" season 7? I know I am!

It's still going to be a long while before our knife-happy anti-hero comes back with new episodes, but that won't stop Showtime from teasing the return. In fact, the network just released a brand-new teaser trailer for the seventh season!

Before you get your hopes up too much, there isn't a lot to see in the teaser. In fact, it's more of a promo than a teaser trailer, and it doesn't quite compare to the delightfully creepy teaser from last year, which was just a solid minute of a close-up of Dexter's face with some contemplative voice-over from our hero.

We get almost no imagery in this promo (there is a red slice that evokes the cuts that Dex puts on his victim's faces), but we do get a bit of voice-over: Dexter saying "Maybe everything is exactly how it should be." What does that mean? Heck, I don't know, you tell me. Considering how season 6 ended, I don't think anything is how it should be for Dex. He could be in a heap of trouble, really, and could lose one of very few people that he genuinely cares about.

The rest of the audio in the clip is from the last few moments of the season 6 finale, which are sure to be moments that will change the landscape of the show entirely.
