Demi Lovato Will Return as X Factor Judge

Though there was some concern that Demi Lovato might not return to “X Factor” after Lovato tweeted how much she would miss her co-stars, it has been confirmed that Lovato will definitely be returning for the show’s third season!

"I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on 'The X Factor,'' Lovato said in a statement. "Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!"

Still needing to be replaced, however, are former judges Britney Spears and L.A. Reid, both of whom left the show after the previous season.

Openly happy—in his own way—about Lovato staying on is show staple Simon Cowell.

"I couldn't be happier that Demi wants to come back this year," the famously grumpy judge admitted. "She's a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying–I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I'm especially pleased she's back, even during her world tour!"

Previously, Lovato had suggested that her musical career might interfere with her ability to return.

"It's hard, 'cause at the end of the day, I'm a musician,” she said. “So I could take the opportunity to tour, and, you know, I have to be a businesswoman and I have to, like, balance it out on both aspects… But at the same time, I had so much fun. And I would love to go back. It's just a matter of making things work. And, you never know, I may do both; I may just pick one or the other."

It seems that the busy lady has chosen to do both!
