Demi Lovato Is Ready to Fight

We already knew that Demi Lovato had major talent. She can sing, she can dance, and she can act. We also knew that she was incredibly fit. But we didn't know that she had fierceness to go along with that fitness. Turns out she's a jiu-jitsu fighter, too. Read on for the scoop on Lovato's prowess in the ring.

Don’t mess with Demi Lovato, because the singer is now a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

“I’m so beyond excited because I just received my blue belt in #brazilianjiujitsu!!!! I fell in love with #BJJ over a year ago and have been training several times a week ever since,” Lovato, 25, wrote on Instagram Monday.

The former Disney star showed off her new belt in a makeup-free selfie in her white gi (jiu-jitsu uniform).

Lovato’s trainer, Jay Glazer, expressed his pride at her milestone, which typically takes at least a full year to achieve.

“I’m more proud of the work @ddlovato puts in with nobody watching than i am what she does with the world watching,” Glazer wrote on Monday. “Congrats on achieving your blue belt today in #bjj, YOU put the grind in!”

Lovato, who performed the national anthem at Saturday’s Mayweather-McGregor match, has gushed about her love of martial arts before.

The pop star is a longtime fan of MMA — and its competitors. Lovato dated MMA star Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos before a May breakup, and weeks later she was linked to Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. She had enjoyed a fall fling with fighter Luke Rockhold.

Lovato returned to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (Aug. 27) to perform her unapologetic single "Sorry Not Sorry."

The pop star, backed by a gospel choir, strutted down an outdoor runway to belt out the soulful record in front of a pool full of people. How about that for a casual pool party?

"Sorry Not Sorry", released on July 18, has peaked at No. 23 on the Hot 100 chart and currently sits at No. 25. Last Friday, Lovato dropped the title track off her newly-announced "Tell Me To Love You" album, due Sept. 29.
