'Wet Hot American Summer' Prequel: Can Bradley Cooper Play 16 Years Old?

It's been ten years since the indie comedy "Wet Hot American Summer" very quietly hit theaters, and went on to become a cult hit on DVD over the next decade.

When you look back on the film, a wacky comedy set in a Jewish summer camp, the miracle of its all-star cast becomes apparent: the movie starred Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, and others. Many of them, like Banks and Cooper, were in the early parts of their careers and have since become big comedy stars ("The Hangover," anyone?).

So when creator David Wain said that he wants to do a prequel, fans everywhere started jumping for joy, but then worried about the logistics. Most of these actors are in their 40's now, and would be playing teenagers. How would that work?

Cue David Wain: "The prequel would be the same summer, so they would be 20 years old for the part yeah, but not younger. So it would be 40 year olds playing 16 year olds. And yeah, we’re in the early stages of thinking about that."

Honestly, when it comes to a movie as outlandish as "Wet Hot," it doesn't matter what age the actors are playing. After all, ten years ago most of them were in their 30's and still playing teenagers, and it worked then. Why not now?

And now, just because, one of the best clips from the movie:
