'Daredevil' Season 2 Will Feature 'Walking Dead' Star As The Punisher

Some of you may know The Punisher from comic books. Others might remember him from the movies that were made a while back. Fans of Netflix's "Daredevil" TV series are about to meet a whole new Punisher.
"The Walking Dead" actor Jon Bernthal has signed on to play Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, in season two of "Marvel's Daredevil," according to an official announcement today from Netflix and Marvel.
The Punisher is a long-running Marvel Comics superhero who is known for a particular crime-fighting policy that separates him from most other superheroes: he won't hesitate to kill a bad guy if necessary.
That ought to make an interesting dynamic with Daredevil/Matt Murdock, especially considering how big a deal the first season of the show made about Murdock's moral standards as far as killing goes. Toward the end of season one, the show featured a number of scenes dedicated solely to discussing the decision to take a life, and Murdock's fear that his anger might get the best of him and lead him to kill the Kingpin.
Bernthal should fit the role nicely, considering the work he did as the brooding, imposing Shane on "The Walking Dead." We'll have to wait until 2016 to see it, though, as the second season of "Daredevil" won't premiere until then.
