Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman Reunite After a Short Separation
by Shannon KeirnanGood news for those that love a long-lasting Hollywood romance!
Although “Taxi” star Danny DeVito split with wife Rhea Perlman back in October, the two are back together, without any divorce papers having been signed.
The 31st wedding anniversary for the two came and went on January 28th, though they were originally seeking to make the split legal when news came last fall.
The two stayed close during the estrangement, spotted multiple times together, including heading the same direction at Los Angeles International Airport a week after Thanksgiving. The sighting sparked rumors that a reconciliation was in the works for the pair, who met in 1970 and finally married in 1982.
In December, DeVito told reporters he and Perlman were trying to make things work, and that he was still on good terms with the “Cheers” actress.
“It’s not something you adjust to,” he said about being separated. “Rhea and I are really close. Actually, still together, just separate; but together… we’re working on it.”
It’s no surprise to friends of the “Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star that things have gone this way.
“They love each other,” said a source. “Always have and always will.”
Apparently. The split did not dampen DeVito’s excitement for his estranged wife’s new career opportunity. In February, he tweeted “Rhea’s got a new show…guess what it’s called???” in reference to “Kirstie’s New Show” which will premiere this fall on TV Land.
The couple has three grown children, Lucy, Grace, and Jacob.
Congratulations go to the pair on the good news!
