Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman Split; Love is Officially Dead

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman Split; Love is Officially Dead This is it, people. This is officially the death of true love. Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are splitting up.

The diminuitive couple met way back when in 1970 when Perlman saw DeVito in an off-Broadway play, and started dating later. They starred together for a number of years on the hit comedy "Taxi" before Perlman landed a role on "Cheers." DeVito, meanwhile, set off on a long career that mostly involved feature films, but eventually landed back in TV with "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Through it all, DeVito and Perlman stayed together and recently marked 30 years of marriage, in addition to about a decade spent living together before they got married. Unfortunately, it looks as though something has gotten in the way of their long partnership, and the two have decided to split. The news was reported by TMZ and confirmed by DeVito's rep, but neither DeVito not Perlman has commented any further.

Maybe DeVito's rising stock kept him away from home too much. Or maybe the two of them finally looked at each other closely. Either way, it's a sad day for those who always thought "hey, if Danny DeVito can find love, so can I."
