'Dads' Season 1, Episode 12: 'Mister Edna' Recap

Veronica comes in, late, because the INS found a sweatshop in the basement of their building. She tells them the INS is sweeping the building for illegal immigrants. Eli rushes off to save Edna, but finds her in the clutches of an officer.

Edna tells Eli that David turned her in. Eli promises to figure something out.

He takes David with him to visit Edna in jail. She tells them she's getting deported. David, guilted by Eli, asks Edna to marry him.

Warner begins to plan the wedding, becoming a "groomzilla." Edna tells David he has to get her father's blessing. She has him call a man who answers a payphone in Mexico and agrees that David can marry Edna. Warner wigs out over the process and storms off.

The wedding is under way. Warner, sobbing, walks Edna down the aisle. She and David exchange their vows. Crawford weds them.

Later, Edna asks Eli to call her "Mom," and begins being maternal on him. Eli arrives at his downstairs office in a raincoat. He goes back up to stand up for himself, and finds clothes scattered all over. He sees them having sex.

He goes to have dinner at Warner's to escape the house. The interview for INS is the next day, and the officer will want to talk to them all.

The interviews are underway. The marriage is declared to be a sham. However, David begins quizzing the officer on his own wife, and he can't answer questions either. It doesn't work though; he tries to take Edna away. Eli and Edna say a touching goodbye.

The officer gets a call - Edna is free. The government has shut down again and he won't be getting paid, and therefore doesn't care.

Warner later tells them he got a prescription for testosterone. Edna and David come in to the office and tell everyone they just got divorced.
