The CW to Reboot 'Dynasty'

We might still be waiting with bated breath by our cell phones for that Gossip Girl reboot we were promised so many months ago, but it seems we may have to wait just that much longer before we head back to the Upper East Side. Why? Because Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the duo behind the TV show based on the series of the same name, are going to be rebooting another iconic TV show: Dynasty.

Yep, that glitzy '80s soap opera is getting a revamp for the modern era. (After Beverly Hills 90201 and Full House got the same treatment, can you really be so surprised?) The Hollywood Reporter notes that the show was picked up by The CW for the 2017-2018 season, and will star Elizabeth Gillies (who you know from Victorious) as the newest member of the Carrington family. She'll be at odds with her new stepmother, played by Nathalie Kelley — and if we know our Gossip Girl, family drama is where this show will really start getting good.
