CW Invasion Continues with 'Arrow' Crossover
by EG
The CW's much-hyped crossover event that brings together all of the network's superhero characters got started in earnest on Tuesday night and continues on Wednesday's episode of Arrow. After the collaboration was teased in Monday's episode of Supergirl, the heroes united for real in the week's episode of The Flash. Next up is an installment of the saga on Oliver Queen's show, followed by a conclusion on Thursday's episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
The plot of the four-series crossover is drawn from a DC Comics limited series from the late 1980s. In the comics, a team of aliens called the Dominators descend on Earth because they're concerned that the planet's superheroes pose a threat to the galaxy. The crossover comic series included characters from the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes, along with other DC heroes.
The CW's crossover event is third such project from the network and the first to feature Supergirl after the series' move to The CW this season. Monday's episode saw a significant bump in ratings compared to the previous week, presumably because of the network's promotion of the crossover. Fans were largely disappointed to discover, however, that the introduction of the crossover was featured only in the closing seconds of the Supergirl episode.
