'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Is Finally Coming Back
by EG
For five years, Larry David has been stubbornly unwilling to give his fans what they wanted: a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. This past summer, he finally relented and said that he planned to produce a ninth season of the HBO series. This week, we got news that the season has finally gone into production, a sign that David isn't going to change his mind and put the series back into retirement.
Almost nothing is known so far about the content of Curb's season nine, but that's par for the Curb course. Aside from an inevitable season-long story arc, it's likely that even David himself doesn't know where the famously unscripted show is going to go.
It's probably not going to have anything to do with the major currents running through American society right now, despite David's high-profile appearances on Saturday Night Live impersonating Bernie Sanders during the presidential campaign. As popular as David's political grumbling has been, that's just not what Curb does; season nine is more likely to focus on some microscopic annoyance that has Larry in a lather.
There's no word yet on a premiere date for the series' new season. We're sure, however, that it will debut sometime in 2017.
