Courtney Cox When Courteney Cox got married to actor David Arquette while on the hit comedy show Friends, everyone thought that the relationship was a secure, long-term one between a couple that were meant to be together.

However, sadly the marriage did not last, and the couple split up last October.

Courteney Cox has now spoken out in a recent interview, stating that being involved with Cougar Town has been her 'saving grace' in terms of helping her to get through her personal issues. The star, who shot to fame as Monica Geller in the hugely popular Friends series, where she starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow, expressed her gratitude for being in Cougar Town during what had become a very difficult time.

She said: "Thank God for the show. There have been times when Bill [Lawrence, the director] has said, 'Are you all right? Do we need to take a break?' I'm like, 'Are you kidding? This is my saving grace'."

Asked about how she dealt with fame Cox said: "Probably as I get older I'm probably getting a little more sensitive. So, it might be harder in some ways. Obviously, my life is kind of crazy right now. So, getting a lot of that. It's probably a little harder for me than it used to be - I think I just didn't notice." She also said that she lets her six year old daughter watch Cougar Town, adding: "If I say yes, am I a bad mum? I do - I tell her to close her eyes when it's inappropriate - but she does."
